Jacket Required is a seasonal trade show in the heart of Shoreditch, London. The premium menswear show opens its doors biannually, to welcome buyers and press to view the most recent menswear collections from exclusive brands. Last week the team saw in their twelfth show.
Jacket Required offer a selection of fresh and established brands who are taking menswear into an exciting, mature stage of exploration. Sports influences remain evident; as well as biking, fishing and other male dominated hobbies.
The building is filled to the brim with stylish men and women, of all ages and disposition. The fashion elite congregate in the old Truman Brewery on Brick Lane to celebrate modern menswear, and drink gin & tonic. (It's always nice to catch up with familiar faces after a hectic day of hard graft!)
As well as gin drinking, we went to; check out any fresh brands that arose, see what our current stocked brands are up to, and place a buy for the upcoming season.
The fashion industry work 1 year in advance; for example, January 2016 exhibits Autumn/Winter 2017 collections, and July 2016 exhibits Spring/Summer 2018. So yesterday we were checking out winter jackets, flannel shirts and thick sweats for next winter!
